Life in Salinas
Salinas is coming out of shadow of San Jose. It is no longer a city near San Jose. Being a little off from the epicenter of Silicon Valley has not lost its luster just because most of the well known brands are located a little up north from Salinas. This special lusture of the city is also reflected in the house prices and every store prices. There are almost no mom and pop shops in Salinas and the world is dominated by people who work in hi-tech companies or should I say people who sit in front of computer the whole day. Nothing wrong with sitting in front of computer or social networking online but when it comes to getting your faucet repaired or finding a mechanic who will do good job of repairing your car it hits real hard. You need to know your neighborhood and the online social networking peers are not of much use here. That’s the one reason people in Salinas are very nervous when they are planning a party when something goes wrong or something is not readily available on Internet they just don’t know will they able to pull it off.
