Banquet Food Project Matches

Requirement Posted- 2007-09-13 16:03:35.0
Location- Oakdale, CA 95361
Details- Request for Catering Quote
Wedding date: 10/4/08, outdoor garden wedding and reception in Knights Ferry (we live in San Leandro)
Time: 3: 00 PM-7:00PM (Wedding is at1 PM)
Number of Guests: 130-150

Budget: $5000.00 total

Reception type: To maintain our budget, we are thinking it must be a “Cocktail” Reception with no cocktails (see below) or buffet stations with no passed food. If there is another option, we are open minded and flexible with plenty of time to plan.

Location Details: Washington Hotel and Gardens, Knights Ferry CA 95361
 Requires a licensed caterer permitted by the Stanislaus County Department of Environmental Relations.
 No kitchen, there is electricity and water available via garden hoses.
 Garbage disposal: 3 cans and 1 bin
 Hotel has 10-48” tables, 5 8’ rectangular tables and 40 white garden chairs available for use.
 We will need additional chairs and tables but would prefer to have only one set of chairs for both the reception and ceremony. This is to save cost; we do not mind having them moved while wedding photos are being taken. If this is not something you can handle, do you have advice as to whom we can contact to take care of our needs?
 Caterer will need to provide all linens, dishware, utensils, glasses, ice chests and ice.
 Site available at 9 AM on 10/4/08. (Set up and prep should not interfere with the wedding ceremony at 1 PM)
 Clean up required, area to be left as it was found.

Food Preferences:
• Simple and healthy, with an elegant presentation
• A variety of plant based options (the bride is a vegetarian, the groom is not)
• Recommendations for the wedding cake provider would be appreciated.
• No alcohol served, lemonade, sparkling water/cider and or soft drinks, coffee/tea service.

Other Important information:
• Groom has a severe anaphylactic reaction to alcohol. Bride does not drink for other reasons; therefore, there can be absolutely no alcohol in the food, not even salad dressing or cake filling.
• Bride and Groom live in the Bay Area, so meetings will have to be done on weekends or by phone.

We would like to have detailed information on your policies for deposits, payment timing and form, delivery, staffing and serving, set up and break down requirements, travel costs and requirements for guest counts.

Please send an itemized written proposal, including all fees, service charges (please disclose what the service charge covers) and taxes by fax mail or email to:

question number 828 How do I pick Banquet Food for my wedding?

Treating guests to some of your favorite dishes is another way to go. When formulating Banquet Food. Consider the bride and groom’s favorite fare, as well as family culture and travel experiences. Guests learn more about the selected dishes through an explanation written on the menu card or announced during a toast. For a couple who shared a love of sailing and planned to pilot their way across the ocean during the honeymoon, how about a Banquet Food dinner kicked off with miniature raw bars shared among every four guests; hammered buckets filled with crushed ice and brimming with jumbo steamed shrimp, oysters, clams, and lobster.

There's no reason to plan your reception menu around the old standbys, especially when there's a world of options out there that will please the palates of even your most picky partyers. When it comes to planning your menu, think outside the normal continental cuisine and look for inspiration elsewhere. Do you have any time-honored family recipes that you love? See whether your caterer can incorporate an upscale take on your aunt's famous ravioli, or include your great grandpa's ginger snaps into your dessert options. Have the two of you traveled places together and discovered cultural cuisine that you love? You can add new life to any entree option -- yes, even chicken and beef -- by presenting it in a new way, whether it's an Indian-influenced curry sauce or a Jamaican jerk chicken. Even if you've never been abroad, you've surely had some meals together that were truly memorable. Maybe you headed to a romantic Italian restaurant for your first date, or you were at home over Chinese takeout when he popped the question -- incorporate nods to these in your dinner.
