question number 1338 While using my laptop with my portable Hard Drive to view video on my TV my portable drive fell off the couch while it was on, but not accessing data. Now it makes a crazy noises and sounds. I took it to a local shop and the guy said it's now a paperweight because the drive won't spin up. Something about a problem with a spindle... Is what that tech said true? Is there any method to repair the drive or recover the Data?
