This may sound like a strange proposal, but I am coordinating a 5K run for University of the Pacific's Physical Therapy graduate program. We are raising funds to support the Stockton Food Bank and the Pacific Physical Therapy class of 2008. We are looking for a DJ that may be interested in DJ'ing from 7:30 am- 11:00 am. I know that October is not a huge wedding month and am wondering if you would be at all interested in doing the run pro bono (for free :) ) It would be a great opportunity to get your name out into the community and we would be more than happy to put your name on the back of the 5K run t-shirt. We would have you set up next to the other booths and hopefully the runners could hear you as they ventured out on the course. Also, you would be more than welcome to bring business cards or anything else that we could slip into the runners' gift bags that would advertise your business. We are planning to throw party at our 10th marriage anniversary. Looking for an entertaining Indian DJ in the Bay Area who can make the party do Balle Balle!

Here is my advice to DJs
There is only one way to learn how to become a DJ, and now you will
see that much of what has been said will not serve you, because the
only way to transform yourself into a great DJ will be through your
own personal efforts.

You will ask yourself now and again for what purpose there are so many
types and classes of DJs. Well, this is because there are various
different philosophies that go along with the different techniques,
but you will have your own personal style, and it is in this that you
should base your idea of what it means to achieve good and adequate
results – for you yourself, and nobody else.

This will leave you with the great compensation of getting to create
your own personal style within the style of music that you prefer, one
thing is your personal DJ style and the other is the style that you
play.

What you will need to transform yourself into a good DJ is
concentration, assimilation, understanding, and practice, anything you
can get a hold of and read on the topic, elsewhere, in a book or in a
magazine, will not be of service to you if you do not have these
essential characteristics that are necessary for you to become a DJ.
Without them, you will simply be restricted to the road to becoming a
DJ, without ever reaching your destination.

First and foremost, you must understand the basic concepts of DJing:
the scratch, the mix, and the beat…

These days it is important that you know that it is not easy to
understand each concept that will be tackled and that even with the
instructions and graphics that you get a hold of, you will never learn
unless you practice… it is serious work that involves hours upon
hours, and will involve becoming familiar with your equipment and your
records.

If you've already begun gathering your equipment, we will begin at
this moment in which it is clear that you are truly ready. Hook up
your turntables and prepare yourself. It's time to fire it up and get
the party started!
