When I hired a car mover, I was sure to make sure my car was adequately insured by the car mover for relocation to Los Angeles. Upon pick-up, I had to do a condition report for any scratches or damages on the vehicle which should be signed by both parties, me and the car mover. The same will occur upon delivery; I made sure I checked my vehicle before signing. I was told by the car mover that reporting any damages or claims at a later time is not advisable. Also, the car movers aid to make sure that if I or an authorized party is not available to receive your car, that it will be stored in a secure storage facility in Los Angeles (where I'm moving) where I will be able to pick it up at a more convenient time. I also made sure to get a 3 day guaranteed window for the pick-up and delivery dates of my car, as suggested earlier get everything in writing from the car mover. Once pick-up is made, my car mover or auto company was able to provide me with a specific delivery date. I had a good experience with my car mover to Los Angeles. Schedule car to ship at least 4 weeks before move, giving enough time to arrange for a car mover carrier to pick up vehicle. Basically, the more advance time the better, I would suggest. If you are not available, arrange an alternative authorized party such as neighbor, friend or relative you can trust to transfer the car to the car mover.
